we're in trouble...
Cooper is mobile! Last night when I was playing volleybal and Jason was watching Cooper, Cooper started army crawling everywhere! So, when I returned home, I witnessed him doing this and getting into everything. It's really too cute to watch him army crawl all around the house. And he also started waving! We just love this little guy so much! :)

7 months
Cooper turned 7 months on the 12th of this month...nothing like waiting until 2 weeks later! He's getting to be such a big boy! He's started some pre-crawling moves, so it won't be long until our little guy is mobile! He's currently in 18 month shirts, 12 month shorts, and size 4 diapers. He eats all sorts of foods and does well with them. No teeth yet, we're still waiting on this one! He started saying 'da-da' the other day and hasn't stopped. He rolls all over the place and we finally put up the gate so he won't roll downstairs.
In other things, we had carpet installed in our downstairs living room as well as the 3 season room. I absolutely love it. We also cleaned up the garage and sorted through everything...it looks so much better. I haven't taken pictures of the finished product, so I'll post those later. Enjoy the pics of Cooper!!!

milwaukee
Last weekend we all went up to Hartford, WI to visit Jason's mom, Kathy and his stepdad, Don. We were there not only to visit, but also to celebrate Jason's birthday early. We headed up Friday after Jason got off work and got in around 9pm. Saturday we woke up, ate a quick breakfast, and then headed to the Milwaukee Zoo! It was a blast and we had a great time. Cooper did pretty well and was interested in watching many of the animals until he finally fell asleep. :)
Jason opening his gift from his mom and Don...a new Kindle!
Family picture at the zoo.
Grandpa, Grandma, and Coop at the zoo. :)
Coop and mommy looking at the alligators.
Coop checking out the giraffes.
And the elephants.
Great Grandma Bradach came over to visit!

6 months stats
Cooper had his 6 month well check yesterday and here are the stats:
Head Circumference: 46 inches (96th percentile)
Weight: 20 lbs (88th percentile)
Height: 27 1/2 inches (86th percentile)
He loved the paper on the table and balled it up between his legs and kicked and kicked. It was pretty cute, if you ask me. :) He was all smiles and let anyone do what they wanted until the nurse stuck him 3 times in the legs and then it was all downhill from there. I think he cussed the nurse out when she left the room...in baby babbles/moans of course. :)

I never did post about Cooper's birth story and I just read an amazing one, so I wanted to make sure that I documented it before I forgot the details. It's somewhat fresh in my mind, so here goes...a little late. :)

During the night, I woke up and had to go to the bathroom. I ended up getting sick and didn't think anything of it. Just thought maybe it was something I ate. I got up at my normal time to head to work, around 4:45am and ended up getting sick again. I felt normal, only that all of this was happening. I went to work, felt like I was going to get sick again but didn't, and went about my day. Around 11:30am or so, I started getting this all over tightness in my belly and wondered if these could be contractions. They weren't like the braxton hicks that I had during the entire pregnancy, so I just assumed it wasn't anything to worry about. Plus, I was only 38 1/2 weeks pregnant. And, I always assumed contractions would be painful, not this all over tightness I was experiencing. Around 1pm, I talked to my boss and decided to go home and rest. I had an appt scheduled for that same day at 4pm and I wanted to get some rest before then.
I drove home, got some sleep, then woke up in time to go to my appt. When we got there and were called back to our room, we had our normal check-up, our midwife Kim asked if I wanted her to sweep my membranes which she did, and then she sent us up to labor and delivery to be monitored to see what was going on. The contractions didn't really hurt at all, they were just a light cramping. Not even enough to blink an eye. I was having contractions every 3 1/2 minutes and they *thought* I was in labor. Kim came up and said that since I wasn't dilated very far, go home, eat a nice meal, get some rest, and she was positive she'd see us during the night sometime. We did just that, ate a HUGE meal at Happy Joe's with my family and waited....and waited. We were both so excited and were fully expecting to have our baby very soon, but after that big meal, my contractions got farther apart...around 15 minutes. So, we slept, walked around the house, and finally we decided it was time to head in.

At 5:30am that morning, we called labor and delivery and said my contractions were 5 minutes apart and they suggested that we come in for monitoring to see if I were going to be admitted. We got ready, Jason went to McDonald's, and we arrived at the hospital around 6:30am. I got settled , they monitored me, and at around 9am that morning, they decided to admit me. Kim came up around 10:15am and broke my water and that's when the contractions really started hurting. Immediately I asked for an epidural and I was only at a 3! It felt like 5 minutes and the anesthesiologist was there and ready to go. I felt so much better after that. We waited all day, nurses checked me, and I was slowly progressing. They decided to give me Pitocin to bring on the contractions and I started having them every minute and a half. I was on my hands and knees trying to bring Cooper down because he just wasn't coming. Jason had to push on my rear end and I had to push against his hands to try and bring him down. He was slowly coming, or so they thought. My epidural eventually wore off and I was in the worst pain imaginable. With contractions every minute and a half, I had no time to rest. It felt best to be on my hands and knees and with every contraction, I would push because that's the only thing that felt good. I pushed for a couple hours while finding out that Cooper had changed positions and was transverse. I had doctors trying to move him inside of me and that was the worst. I thought my labor was never going to end.

At around 12:30am, Dr. Ehle said that he doesn't like to throw in the towel this easy, but we were going to have to do a c-section. I was relieved. I could finally see the end in sight. However, they had sent the surgical team home because they honestly thought hours ago that I could deliver him naturally. So, I waited an hour for everyone to come back (in a snow storm) and all the while, having to push through contractions knowing that I couldn't deliver him naturally. Around 1am, they wheeled me down to the OR, they got me ready for surgery, and at 1:20am, Cooper John Gregory was born. He weighed 8lbs 15.9 oz and was 21 inches long. They released one of my arms and let me touch him and it was one of the best days of my life. Jason went up to the nursery with him, as that's what I wanted, and I got put all back together. I had to go to ICU to be monitored for a half an hour and after that, I finally got to hold my little angel. It was the greatest feeling I've ever felt. I could finally experience motherhood and feel what the love of a child feels like. I felt so complete and full of love. God is truly good. :)

catch up
It's been a while since I've updated this blog and we have a lot to catch up on!
Jason's first Father's Day was great. We did a lot of relaxing, as you can see below. :) He spent the majority of his day with his little man.

We spent last week enjoying time in northern Minnesota. We stayed in a cabin with my sister and her husband on Wabedo Lake. It was beautiful and Cooper did wonderful. He especially loved his time with his Aunt Jenna and sitting on his cousin, Maggie, while she kicked him in the rear end. We joked that they are already fighting. :)
Every Wednesday in Longville, MN, they have turtle races and we entered Cooper! I don't think he really understood what the heck we were doing, but it was fun anyway.
After the races. He looks thrilled. :)
On our way home...he looks happy to get to sleep in his crib and not the pack 'n play anymore! Well, at least for a couple weeks until we head to Milwaukee to spend time with Grandpa and Grandma Bradach. :)
And yesterday, Melissa, Sherri, and Morgan invited Cooper down to take his first dip their pool! He had a blast and Melissa was kind enough to lend us her other little pool for Cooper to swim in! Thanks Melissa and Morgan!
