Cooper is becoming such a big little guy.  He finally learned how to sit up on his own last night!  Jason was eating his ice cream (shocker :)) and yelled to me in the kitchen that Cooper was just crawling and all of a sudden he was sitting.  He didn't know if it was a fluke or what, but not long after, the little guy did it again for the both of us to see.  We were so excited! 

Coop can also feed himself puffs, although he's still got some work to do.  He picks the  puff up with his thumb and pointer finger but then uses 2 hands to put the puff in his mouth.  But, he's almost there!  :)

I haven't posted his 8 month picture yet, but that will be shortly.  I've been a little behind on things. 

My sister, Jenna's, baby shower was last weekend at our house and it was a great turnout!  Lots of family and friends came and Jenna received so many great presents for Maggie Sue.  And she only has 23 more days until her due date!  We are so excited and can't wait to finally meet Maggie! 

Last night Cooper and I went to the Homecoming Parade in Muscatine and had a nice time!  It was a short little parade, but no worries.  I don't think Morgan Schmidt will need to eat a real meal for weeks with all the candy she got! 

And this weekend, Jason's Mom and Don are coming down to visit and watch Cooper for us Saturday while Jason and I celebrate our anniversary.  I'm really looking forward to it!

2 years

I can't believe it's been 2 years since we said 'I do'.  My how time flies.  But, it's been the best 2 years of my life and I couldn't have found a better person to spend my life with. 

Jason is currently on travel to Ft. Worth, TX until Tuesday, so I'll be spending this evening with my little guy and my parents.  :)  We do have big plans for the weekend though since Jason's Mom and Don will be heading down on Saturday to watch Cooper for us while we celebrate.  Before Jason left yesterday, I had the bright idea to drive to Des Moines and spend the afternoon/early evening there!  As soon as I mentioned Bass Pro Shops, he was in!  :)  We're going to do a little shopping and then I found a restaurant at the Jordan Creek Shopping Mall called Fleming's Steakhouse and we're so excited to try it!  We have reservations for 5pm on Saturday night and I'm really looking forward to it.  It's been a while since it's just been Jason and I on a date.  I can't wait to spend some time with him!

a visit and a surprise

This past weekend, Gary and Mary came down to visit!  They came Friday night and left Sunday morning, as did I.  I went to Parsons, KS from Sunday-Friday....the longest week ever without my little boy.  :(  But, it was great to see them again and we hope to see them soon!  At least we both have Skype in the meantime.  :)

I was able to come home today (Friday) and got in around 12:30.  There was potential that I would have to stay until Saturday, which I was dreading.  We drove to Kansas City Thursday night and got up early to make the 6 hour drive home on Friday.  When I finally got home-home, I walked in the door from the garage and noticed 2 of the chairs I wanted from IKEA!!!  My jaw literally dropped because I was not expecting them at all!  It was a great surprise and an early 2 year anniversary gift.  I love them!  And Jason took the day off yesterday and drove up to Chicago with my Mom to get them.  Thanks, husband!!!  :)
