Big Boy!
Yesterday, Jason and I went to the Outdoor Show in the QC's and looked around at boats, lures, charting fishing vendors, and many other things. We had a great time and Cooper was a champ. He slept the majority of the time and woke up for a feeding. And he looked adorable, if I must say so myself. :) He had on a camo onesie and his OshKosh blue jean bibs...so, so, so cute. :)
Afterward, we went to Babies R Us and bought 2 184 count boxes of size 2 diapers for the future. So, this morning, Jason asked if maybe the size 2 would fit him. I told hime that we had a small package of size 2's open in the bathroom and we could try it if he wanted to. And we did and they fit! We were so surprised. So, I wondered if maybe he fit into the next size of clothing and went downstairs and picked out a 3-6 month outfit and it fit. I'm a little sad as my little guy is growing up. :(
And this morning, Jason and I woke up at 5:30am and not because Cooper was up, because Cooper hadn't woken up since 11:30pm last night! We were thrilled, but a little scared as this was the first time it's happened and we were worried that something was wrong, but nope! He was out like a light!

Cooper John
Well, it's been a while since I've blogged, but I guess I have a good reason. :) Cooper John was born by c-section on Wednesday, January 12th, 2011 at 1:22am. He weighed 8 lbs 15.9 oz and was 21 inches long. He was/is the most adorable thing we've ever laid eyes on and just love him to pieces. The first 2 nights were very hard, but Jason and I are taking it all in stride and getting more used to it. We have since taken him to the doctor 3 different times since he's been born and at the first 2 appointments, he had lost a combination of 9 oz. Not gaining at all. So, the scared mother that I am, I immediately started supplementing and at our appointment yesterday, he had gained 20 oz in 6 days!!! I was beyond thrilled and so happy to see that our little angel was gaining weight. And he's grown a half inch too. Currently he's sleeping on my chest as I type and I think that's my favorite thing so far. I just love holding him and loving him....I didn't realize how much I could love someone. Not that I don't love Jason, but it's a different kind of love for your child. Last night I decided that Jason and I were going to get some sleep and slept downstairs and put Coop in the swing. He slept from 10:30-11:30, woke up for a feeding, slept from midnight to 3:30, and then from 4-7:30. I feel like a new woman and Jason slept through the entire night for once.
I'm finally getting a chance to update this post and it's not Feb. 7th. There is just not enough time in the day for all of things that I want or need to get done, but I guess that's just how it's going to be for a while. :)
Cooper is almost 1 month old and I never imagined how fast it would go! It seems just like yesterday that I had him. Things have been going pretty good. Last night was a little rough...Cooper decided he was going to fuss the entire night and neither he nor I got any sort of sleep. We did take a cat-nap this morning and I feel a little better. I should be sleeping now as he's sleeping, but I want to do other things. But, I think in a few minutes, I'll get to that one too. A couple of weeks ago, I took the little guy in to Jason's work and showed everyone our little boy. Of course they all enjoyed him and wanted to hold him. Who doesn't love babies in general? And we ventured out to church yesterday for the first time since we've had him and he did wonderful! Didn't even make a peep and he was just the best little guy ever. We know we'll have our screaming moments in church when we won't be able to even stay, but we were so proud of him.
I/we have never had so many problems getting insurance figured out, but I think we've got it. Cooper is having claims filed against him and he wasn't on my insurance yet, so we were getting calls about that and bills having to pay in full. He should be getting added soon as well as Jason. And Jason was really worried that we would have to end up paying a nice chunk and my insurance called him back last Friday and let him know that they cover 100% of maternity! We were beyond thrilled. Awesome news.
And one last thing about Coop....he has these little tantrums when he doesn't like something and yells out this high whiney sound. It's actually really cute and lasts about 3 seconds. :) Such a sweet little guy.

What a Crazy Friday
Last Friday had to be the scariest day I've encountered since this whole pregnancy began. It started off with me waking up around 5:15am to take a shower. As I was getting ready to get out, I grabbed on to Jason's towel bar, which is closest to the shower, to get over to mine. As I was leaning out with my weight holding onto the towel bar, the bar gave away and I basically flipped out of the tub and landed between the toilet and wall. I let out a horrible scream and Jason came flying in to see what happened. I think I turned to land on my side and my hip/arms/knees took the majority of the fall. I have nasty bruises on all of those places, and nothing on my tummy, so that's why I think I didn't even hit my stomach. But, we decided right away that we would go into the office when it opened at 8am. So,we did and waited until almost 9am when the nurse came out and told me that I would need to go up to labor and delivery to be monitored. So, Jason and I headed up there where I was hooked up so they could check Cooper's heartbeat, any contractions, and my placenta. I guess I had a few contractions, but everything else looks good. Since I did have contractions, they've given me preterm labor instructions. I've felt pretty good, except I've had more Braxton Hicks contractions, but nothing serious to worry about. It was a horrible day and I'm glad it's over. Needless to say, the towel bar is no longer up so that I can't even be tempted to put my weight on it and now I hang the towel over the shower curtain bar. No more reaching for me! :) Oh-and only 6 more weeks from this Thursday!!!!
