We will have a new niece/cousin within the next couple of days!  Jenna was admitted to the hospital this morning and we're just waiting to hear the good news!  Will update with pictures when Jen has Maggie Sue!!! 

vacation

I was told this morning that we are going on vacation in January some time, but I wasn't told where.  So, I'm thinking it's Punta Cana for sure, but I don't have a clue what hotel or what part of Punta Cana.  We planned on going to the Dominican Republic for our honeymoon, but decided against it when Haiti was affected by the earthquake.  Since they are both on the same island, we didn't know what we would run into once we got to the airport.  We were bummed that we weren't able to go there, but told each other that we'd go in the future.  We've heard so many great things about Punta Cana and we're so excited to go there.  What I'm really looking forward to is getting out of here during the winter, but I'm really not looking forward to leaving my little guy for a week.  But, my parents are already watching the little guy for a week and he'll still go to daycare so that his schedule won't get messed up.  So, in 3 months (scary to think January is that close) Jason and I, the Davis's, and the Boyer's will be somewhere like this!!!

a baby shower

Jenna had the Kiddoo baby shower today and it was beautiful.  Sheila Kiddoo hosted it along with her daughter, Amy, and it was so nice and relaxing.  There was a delicious fruit plate, vegetable tray, snack items, pizza, and cake.  Everything was so yummy and it was a really nice time.  Jen received so many great gifts and everyone is so excited to meet Maggie in a few weeks!  2 weeks from today!

My sister, Jill, and I threw a baby shower for Jenna on September 24th.  I believe I mentioned something about this a while ago, but I never took pictures and now I finally have some.  It was a great turnout and so much fun!  We're looking forward to her Kiddoo shower this Sunday!

anniversary date

Last night Jason and I had our anniversary date at Fleming's Steakhouse in Des Moines.  Oh my goodness was it delicious and the staff was excellent.  No complaints and we'd definitely go back for another special occasion.  Jason had the filet mignon as did I and we shared the Fleming's potatoes and creamed corn.  We also started off the dinner with lobster corn chowder (to die for) and Jason had oysters.  I took his word for it when he said they were good.  :)

We shared dessert, chocolate lava cake, and they also presented us with a Fleming's specialty cake in celebration of our anniversary!  I didn't get pictures of our appetizers and main course, but I got one  of the dessert and one of us at the restaurant!

And after dinner, we went to the Cheesecake Factory to pick up cheesecake for us and others!  I think we've had our share of sweets this weekend!  :)

8 months

Cooper turned 8 months back on September 12th, so this is a little late. But, I posted it before the 9 month picture, so that's a plus!  :)

We took Coop to the doctor a couple of weeks ago since he had this cough that kept him up throughout the night along with Mom and Dad.  So, here's what the little guy was at:

Weight:  23 lbs 10 oz
Height:  29 inches

He goes back to the doctor October 13th for his 9 month well check, but no shots this time!  He'll be so thrilled!  :)
