12 Weeks!

It is only 12 weeks from this Saturday until we leave for our honeymoon to the Dominican Republic!  We can't wait and are so excited to get out of this cold, cold weather and get some sun!  My sister and her husband, Jenna & Dustin, are coming along with us and we couldn't be more happy!  When Jason and I went to Mexico last Febuary, we had a really great time, but we would have liked another couple with us to chat with or go do things with.  For example, Dustin & Jason are going golfing in Punta Cana and Jenna & I are going to get manicures and pedicures!  I cannot wait to relax and enjoy ourselves.  Here is a link to the resort we are staying at... www.palaceresorts.com/RESORTS/MpPuntaCana/index.asp.

And here is a photo of what we are looking forward to.....enjoy!!!  :)

Snow Day

We didn't get as much snow as predicted, but the main highways around here are treacherous. I have to take Hwy 61 to work and I was not going to even try. With all of the blowing and drifting snow, they have shut down parts of I-80 since so many semi's have jack-kniffed and cars were in the ditches. Not a pretty sight out there today. Here is a photo of what it looked like early this morning. It is more drifted over tonight as the winds have picked up. On a side note, I didn't go to work, but Jason did. He made it to work safely and home safely....I was really worried about him when I knew he'd be out on the roads.

And this is how we've kept Sadie warm during this snow and cold weather.  :)

Let it snow!

Today is our first measurable snow of the season! Not too much yet, maybe an inch, although there is MORE on the way. I got to test drive the Escape in the snow, but there wasn't that much on the roads, but I'm sure I'll get to test that in a few days. Although if I had my way, I wouldn't be caught out in it. :) Tomorrow and Wednesday there is supposed to be a HUGE storm where we could see anywhere between 6-12" of snow! We are currently under a blizzard watch, which will more than likely be changed to a warning within the next day. I'll have to post some pictures on Wednesday, as I'm sure I will be staying home for the day.

Christmas Get Together 2009

Last night Jason and I went to our Christmas get together that my friends and I do every year. This year we included the husbands. OH MY GOSH! The kids were hilarious! Jason and I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. They were just so funny being so concerned over their toys and then when one of the Dad's got on the floor and started doing WWF wrestling with them, it was hilarious! Alicia and Corey Bull hosted it at their house and made all sorts of delicious food. We showed up in our Christmas sweaters and here is a taste of them....I think you'll like them. :)

Here are some photos of the kids and my friends and I. It was a wonderful time and we can't wait to do it next year! PS....I think our sweaters were such a hit that we're going to have everyone wear Christmas sweaters next year. We can't wait!

Thanksgiving in Minocqua!

This year Jason and I spent Thanksgiving with his Dad and Mary in Minocqua, unlike last year when they all came down and that was the evening Jason proposed! How can I ever forget that?! We left Wednesday around 2:30 and drove the entire way in rain.....boo. We had to take the dogs, which we really didn't want to do for 2 reasons. 1) We didn't want them running all over Gary and Mary's house, and 2) we really didn't want all their dog hair in our new vehicle. But, it turned out great! I felt horrible though since there was dog hair all over their house and Sadie was a little crazy, what's new though! :) We enjoyed a great Thanksgiving dinner that Mary spent a lot of time on. She made turkey, dressing, potatoes, gravy, candied sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry jelly, rolls, raspberry cheesecake, and pumpkin pie. It was delicious!!!!!! Everything was fantastic and we stuffed ourselves silly. Friday we visited with his Grandma and Grandpa and it was great to see them since it had been before the wedding that we had seen them last. They are doing great and it was so nice to visit with them. We left early Saturday morning and had a nice trip home. Now it's time to start thinking about Christmas! Jason and I are going to go north to Milwaukee to visit with his Mom and Don and enjoy the holiday with them.

We're really looking forward to this weekend since Friday we are getting together with my Illinois friends for a Christmas get together where we exchange gifts and eat delicious food. I can't wait to see all of their kids and kiss and hug all of them! This will be the first year that we are going to have the husbands come and celebrate too, but they're just going to sit around and drink some beer. Jason doesn't know it yet, but I've signed us up to wear 'his' and 'her' Christmas sweaters. Hopefully I can get some good pictures and post them this weekend. I'm going to try! :) It should be a great time! And then on Sunday, we are getting together with my family to have a holiday get together. I believe it's chili and snacks and good conversation. I really like getting together with everyone. I hope we keep this going year after year. It reminds me of when I was little and ALL of the Thirtyacre's would get together and do this type of thing.

I think it's time to sign off....I'm running out of things to talk about and Jason fell asleep on the couch. Gotta wake him up before he is awake too early in the morning!!!! (Yeah right. ;))

Website

Jason and I had ordered some of our wedding photos online through a website called www.mpix.com which is the greatest website ever, well as far as pictures go. We ordered a TON of photos, all different sizes, and it cost us around $57, which was with shipping and it came in 2 days. So, if anyone wants wedding photos, just let us know! I believe they are still out on our photographers website www.angelawyatt.com. I am currently waiting on a wrap-around photo that I ordered late Thursday night and it should hopefully be here by tomorrow, Monday. I can't wait to hang it in our bedroom!!!!

1st Trial Running

Well, Jason and I decided that we'd better get back on the losing weight train since we've had some time off since the wedding. Our honeymoon to Punta Cana is coming up in March and we'd both like to lose a few pounds before then. So, tonight we decided that we would go for a run in our addition. I assumed that it would be around 5:30 when Jason gets home, but it turned out more like 6:00. That's fine, but it gets dark now a lot earlier so we were running in the dark. Not a biggie until as we're running, Jason tells me, "If that dog down there starts running at you, just turn around and run towards home." Okay, so I was stressed about the running thing and then I had to worry about dogs running out and attacking me. Not a good way to get me in the groove. I tried for a little while, but had to stop and walk a few while Jason ran in a circle and then I tried it again. Wasn't long before I was back to walking and that was about it. I seriously thought I was going to pass out a few times since it's been months since the last time I'd ran. It was horrible and I really need to keep it up. Jason did really well. He ran all of it except when he came back from running across the highway and caught up with me. Then we walked the rest of the way. It's been a lazy night around here...neither of us wanted to cook dinner. We were trying to make deals with each other to see who would run to Hy-Vee to get dinner, but we honestly were just too tired. So,we ended up eating leftovers. Our exercise for tomorrow night is going to be our first indoor volleyball game which we are really looking forward to! We absolutely love playing indoors and are really looking forward to this season!
